In the seventeenth century, the Baal Shem Tov instituted the Meal of Messiah (Seudat Moshiach) to be held in the late afternoon on the seventh day. The prupose was to emphasize the connection of Acharon she Pesach to the final redemption and to heighten our desire for the coming of Moshiach. Origially, the main ceremonial element of the meal was simply matzah. Later the custom of drinking four cups of wine was added by Rebbe Rashab, the fifth Rebbe of Chabad (1960-1920). it has become a joyful conclusion to Pesach and a focus on longing for the final Exodus.
This meal will take place in your homes on Wednesday April 15 @ 7:30 PM It should be a festive meal centered around Messiah Yeshua, His connection to the season and the future promise of His return, may it be soon and in our time.
